My name is Jacob, but my mommy sometimes calls me honey…

it confuses me a little, because I saw on the Internet the other day (with daddy of course) that honey is actually sweet and comes from these funny and colorful buzzing things… hmmm…
When I first Woke Up
I don’t remember a lot, and things are kind of blurring together to me. I woke up a week ago and there were all of these funny looking people dressed in blue and wearing masks. They started poking and prodding me and sticking things in my mouth and moving my arms and legs, and then I couldn’t help but cry. I wasn’t really sad, but kind of overwhelmed – I just didn’t know what to do, so I got a little emotional.

But soon enough they passed me to this nice smelling guy who started talking to me, and then I recognized him. I remember that he talked to me all the time while I was growing in my special warm place. Somehow it got a lot colder now, and I don’t know how to get back to my special warm place. This guy dressed in blue put all this goopy stuff in my eyes, and I couldn’t really see… but it didn’t matter, I knew that this nice smelling guy was daddy… he makes me feel safe!

Getting Adjusted
Life is an adjustment let me tell you. All of these crazy people want to hold me and touch me and grab my feet. And they put their face up close to mine and make all kinds of stupid noises… as if they want me to respond to them. Well, sometimes they are just ridiculous enough that I can’t help but chuckle and react (more out of instinct than approval you know).

The other day I went and visited this man called doctor with mommy. He called her a “Rock Star”, and I thought that it was very funny. I’m not exactly sure what a rock star is, but I think I want to be one when I grow up now! Mommy will really like that!

Daddy was eating something that smelled so good yesterday. I didn’t know what it was, but I had to find out, so I put my nose into his mouth while he was talking to me. I still couldn’t tell, and then my nose got wet… but he told me later that I must really like banana bread! Well… I’m not sure what that is really, but I know that it gets me really excited!

Okay, it is now time for my nap. I’d rather hang out on the Internet with daddy, but mommy doesn’t like that very much. She says I have an Internet curfew until I am at least two months old… go figure…! I’ll write more later when daddy helps me sneak out of my crib!
