I definitely agree that there will be a sequel but who knows when? It does take a long time to make a film that has the kind of scale that the Dark Knight had. It took around 3 years for that to happen and it was worth the wait in my opinion. Definitely one of my favorite films of all time.
I think when studios rush out sequels they don't always end up turning out very good. Case in point are the Pirates of the Caribbean films. The first one was good. Gore Verbinski even said he put all his good ideas into the first one so why make two more?
