Boomergeddon

Before Gen X and Gen Y, there were the Baby Boomers. You know, your goofy parents and grandparents. We need a place to kick off our cyber-shoes, reminisce about the good old days, listen to creepy '70's music and fly our geezer flag!

I think I fit this group nicely. But remember, if you remember becoming a member...you probably shouldn't be.

In January 2006, Los Angeles Times Magazine published a story called "The Boomer Buster", focusing on the work and research of Mike Males. Males coined the term "Boomergeddon" and, at the time, that was to be the title of a forthcoming book.

Here is a link to the ARTICLE and here is a link to my subsequent published LETTER TO THE EDITOR.

Staying vital and creative is one thing. Trying to deny or somehow hide the fact that you're closer to the end than the beginning is foolishness. One of the most unseemly things in this world is to see a Baby Boomer who is stuck somewhere in the '60's or '70's and just didn't get the memo that we're supposed to be grown-ups now. So I envision this is an area where Slungle Seniors can exchange ideas, online resources, whatever. We're still in the game of life ... let's go for it!
